Latisha's Story

                          Part 1


   Latisha a young pretty down to earth girl from the middle class family, lost her mother at the age of 16. She was left with her father and her three brothers and a cousin brother who was older than her. She didn't let the death of her mother get to her,so she moved on with her life with her family and friend. Latisha had one friend Amisha,which she considered as her own sister since she was the only female child.

Latisha and Amisha grew up bounding
really well. Amisha goes to visit Latisha whenever her mom allows her, since her mom knows Latisha's family and she likes her too.

      Amisha moved away from the area in which Latisha leaves and it became difficult for Amisha and Latisha to see each other frequently, but it still didn't stop them from been friends. Sometimes Latisha will visit Amisha and when Amisha is on holiday she would also visit Latisha. Since Latisha was done with secondary school for about four years now and has been waiting for admission ever since. Latisha is far older than Amisha but that didn't stop their friendship. Amisha had to transfer to a boarding school which was in another state.

      A year later Latisha got admission into the university but couldn't go cause her elder brother couldn't help pay her fees rather he paid for his wife sister's fees. Latisha was devastated but had to forget about the admission for that year.
And yes the elder brother is not supportive of her welfare. But when it comes to his wife and her siblings it's easy for him to assist them.

     Years later Amisha graduated from boarding school and was waiting for admission into the university, but when they started releasing the list she didn't see her name on the list and became sad.

Her mom adviced her to have faith and wait for the next session,so she would be able to apply. She then suggested she goes to Latisha's place for a week and Amisha was really excited cause its been 8month she last saw Latisha.

      The next day Amisha left for Latisha's place and Latisha was really glad to see her, she went to greet Latisha's dad and he was also happy to see her. Latisha and Amisha left for Latisha's room to begin their normal chit chat when Latisha brought up the topic of her getting married.

And her introduction was in few days. Latisha had told Amisha about it before now but she taught she was probably joking,but when she started explaining the reasons why she couldn't help but get married to the guy. With the hope that he was going to further her education and all.

Amisha asked her why he couldn't help further her education and then get married later, Latisha explain that he was dating a lady before and and was paying her tuition fee but then she dumped him for another guy years later and didn't want to make the same mistake again. Amisha was really angry at the fact that her elder brother was capable of paying her tuition fees and all but still didn't say a word. All she could do was encourage her since he would see her through school and also take good care of her.
   
     Days past and Latisha and Amisha were together making preparation and also talking about other things. Amisha was given permission to stay few more days cause of the introduction. It wasn't easy cause they both knew as soon as she gets married to the man, things will definitely change between them and they will not be able to see each other often. But still they were both happy.

Imagine her elder brother's wife brought chicken and other stuffs to prepare for the guest while Amisha and Latisha had cleaned the whole house, what was left was the meal and seriously the soup had to be Egusi Amisha was really angry cause she doesn't eat Egusi. The meal was ready and the guest had arrived I mean her fiance his elder brother and his elder sister. He seemed like a nice person. They brought basket of fruits and other things. They did the normal introduction thing and other discussions entered and that was it. Before he left, he handed Amisha some cash for her up keep and she was happy. Latisha gave her the my share look and she just laughed. Then he left so did her elder brother's wife. They were left to do the cleaning alone
It was time for Amisha to leave and Latisha was already feeling sad about it, but she knew Amisha had to leave.

        About six months after Amisha left Latisha's place. The date for the wedding was fixed and Amisha was happy she woukd attend the wedding. Few weeks later, she enrolled into Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination. (IJMB) a one year programme which enables you to gain admission into the university as a 200level student  instead of 100level.

Amisha was in school when Latisha called to confirm if they would be on break during the time of the wedding but, they was no break at all they had so many topics to cover. Amisha was sad she would miss the wedding but they was nothing she could do.
It was the day of the wedding and all Amisha could do was call her. But it seems Latisha was not comfortable with Amisha not been there with her on her wedding day but she understood Amisha wouldn't have missed it on purpose. The wedding went well and she became Mrs Garba.
